A 50-story Holiday Inn hotel tower under construction in Lower Manhattan near the World Trade Center is slated to become the chain’s tallest hotel, hotelChatter.com reported recently. The 400-room hotel now under construction at 99 Washington Street will be about 448-feet tall, a senior InterContinental hotels Group executive tells USA TODAY. The high-profile project is the latest sign that this part of New York continues to grow as an attraction to investors, employers and travelers alike.
