For a limited time, at Changi Airport in Singapore, you can experience a ride on a two wheeled, motorized vehicle. Segway Tours will be available for both visitors and travelers at the World’s Top Airport for 2010. Riders need to visit Terminal 3, Line 1, in the Departure Hall. Segway rides are $10 for 3 laps around the 80 meter course. Riders must be at least 3 feet, 3 inches tall. Now until June 30, 2010.

Other venues for enjoyment are playgrounds in all 3 terminals, spa services, hair and nail salons, and free wireless. High speed is available for a charge. Visit the 6 gardens, including a delicate butterfly garden where you can witness breeding, feeding, and if you’re fortunate, emergence from the pupae and first flight. Relax in the orchid garden with koi pond and sunflower garden. The rooftop has a cactus garden, winner of the 2001 Singapore City Garden Award.

Have a long layover? Possibly the best feature, for those transiting the globe, is the swimming pool. For a small fee, enjoy a swim in the pool or relax in the Jacuzzi. Shower facilities, complimentary non-alcoholic beverages, and a towel are included with the price. The perfect way to ease jetlag and cramped muscles.

Have more than 5 hours in between flights? Enjoy a free tour of Singapore, subject to entry visa requirements. If you are exhausted and need time to stretch out between flights, go to one of the napping areas, such as the Rainforest Lounge, or one of the six rest areas, with leather snooze chairs with head and leg support. Terminal 2 offers live music with drinks and finger food.

All 3 of the terminals offer shopping. The airport boasts 300 shops. Visit Amazing Grace, which sells crafts from 13 Asian and Far Eastern countries. The stock of authentic jewelry, garments, and crafts changes every month.
