The airlines are not sure when they will be able to resume commercial flight into Haiti. In the meantime, some are taking the opportunity to fly aid there. Due to the recent events, no passengers are allowed to be flown, only supplies can be dropped off and American Airlines is doing just that.

30,000 pounds of relief supplies have already been dropped off and several more trips are planned for Thursday and Friday.

The airline is offering its frequent-flier program members mileage incentives for contributing to the Red Cross. Starting Thursday, members can earn a one-time bonus of 250 miles for a minimum donation of $50 or 500 miles for a donation of $100 or more through February 28, according to American’s Web site.
